I do, except for the race bike.

I can't bring myself to finance something that I don't need. I've been able
to find some very good deals on new bikes though. My new 2001 YZF600R
(bought in 2003) was picked up for $5200. My '03 RC51 was bought during
in Jan of '05 new, for under $9K. No one wanted a big fat slow twin for
$12.5K when they could buy a ZX10 for less.

1. I've owned three bikes and all were purchased new.
2. All bikes were financed and paid off early. My current bike I financed
through Suzuki only because they were offering a $99/month rate for like 48
months which made it easy to get into. I've since paid it off.
As echoed by others, If given the choice I'd take a new bike over a used any
day, just for the confidence that no one has abused it before me. Well, that
plus the fact that I don't entirely trust myself to properly inspect a used
bike to truly know it's worth, nor do I want to have to put money into it if
something is wrong.

I did the finance thing 20 years ago on a $3K paint job on my 68 Ford
Torino.
I was the proudest 19 year old that was rolling around town in a cool rod.
6 months later a Fiat smashed into it.
2 years later I finally made the last payment on it.
I've never financed a vehicle since, either car or bike. I own 3 bikes
right now.

If you start saving now by the time you have the money saved up your dream
bike will be available for half of what it is today, on the secondhand
market.
