I think that's where the phrase "and much hilarity ensues"
might come in.
Also, I don't see much space there to add any sort
of storage...where in Cthulhu's name am I supposed
to carry my necessities? You can't put EVERYTHING
in a backpack!

This will come as a shock to the folks on the John Muir Trail.

I would respectfully suggest that my carrying needs
when we're talking about a commuter or touring vehicle
might differ quite significantly from those I have when
hiking. Y'know?

No. Quite honestly I don't. I've *never* carried as much on my
motorcycle as I've nearly always carried when backpacking.
Out in the back of beyond you have to be prepared for just about
*anything* in terms of weather, diet, or emergency, and be able to
handle those things entirely by yourself if need be. I've never felt
the need to be that overwhelmingly independant of potential help when
riding.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Tow a one-wheeled trailer, of course.
