I have a Camelback Classic. On the Moab trip, I filled it and put it
in the freezer the night before I left. I wore it under my Motoport
Cordura jacket. The first day, 360 some miles from San Diego to
Prescott, was mostly 100 degrees or hotter. When I got to Prescott,
there was still ice in the bag.

If the sun is not beating on the bag, it stays amazingly cold.

Recent tests on helmets show that color has just about nothing to do with heat
retention.

That's because helmets essentially have a styrofoam cooler between the outer
shell and your head.

That's the one I got.

My F/G jacket and pants aren't mesh. The jacket has a mesh liner and both
have removable liners but once I zip up all the vents and the rain-
resistant zipper in front, *NO* air gets through and I stay rather toasty.
