I carry a spare set of packs in a small ice cooler with ice in it. When the
ones inside the vest need a recharge, I switch the packs out and keep going.
System works pretty well. You can rotate the packs every 2 hours or so and
still keep cool when it's over 100 degrees outside.
I was tipped off by this system by someone on Reeky a year or so ago from
Arizona. I was using the water soaker vests until then, but got tired of
their claminess and not working when humidity was high and sweltering. They
tended to dry out pretty quick too.
