The first DAY (period) on my ST1100 was from SE Tennessee to Salina, Kansas.
After 4 hours of sleep I went on to Ft. Collins, CO and spent the night with
Flash. Prior to that ride I had a total of 100 miles seat time on that bike.
The only modification was a Corbin Dual Canyon seat. I was tired, not sore.

True. Been there, done that, got the tee shirt.
Huntsville AL to Minden NV, then did the coast highway (1) border to
border (mostly), back to Minden (Flew some more), then back to Huntsville
(the long way). May/June. 6800 miles on the FJR in one trek.
Most of the country they are Interstates. When I went through the
LA area (I-5 south, then PCH north), they were big, multi-lane parking
lots. - What a mess! -

When I was in Sandy Eggo for four months in 2002, I spent nearly every
weekend in the Central Valley. I still don't consider it a long ride...

Well, pthbthpbthpbtftpbtft to you, too. My longest day was 1640+
miles, but considering that 99.99% of all rides ever ridden are less
than 400 miles, a 475 mile day is long.

...and 85% of all statistics are made up on the spot...
