Have to disagree with you there. God knows it is NOT
great food; McDonald's is the very definition of mediocre
corporate eateries. But it's never "diseased." There are two
things you can count on at any McDonald's - the place will
be clean, and the food will always be EXACTLY what it was
at the last Golden Arches Supper Club you were in. Not
great, not even all that good, but DAMNED consistent. And
that's true whether the McDonald's you're in today is 5 miles
from the last one, or 5,000. I do a lot of international travel
on business, and have intentionally chosen a McDonald's for
lunch in Taiwan, mainland China, etc., for just that reason -
I wasn't expecting really good food, but I KNEW what I
would be getting (and just wasn't in the mood for a culinary
adventure at that point).
