A few more:

* Don't Armor-All your seat.

* Remember to put your feet down. Falling over simply because
you've come to a stop is generally considered bad form.

* Similarly, remember to put the stand UP. Falling over because
you're dragging that little bit of metal is also cause for much
merriment amongst your fellow riders.

* Your turn signals will not cancel themselves no matter how
long they blink. At least on most bikes.

* Back to side/centerstands. Remember what they told you
about hot asphalt in the MSF class? Believe it, or also face
certain embarrassment.

* Remember thy maintenance schedule, and keep it Wholly.

* You are not "driving." You are "riding."

* It does not matter if you have the right-of-way. Mass wins,
every time.

* We can and will debate the value of loud pipes and chrome.
However, no one should think that either will improve your
riding skills automagically, ever. Ditto lots of nice aerodynamic
plastic bits and superturbotransmogrified liter engines. In short
if you can't ride a Nighthawk 250, things will not magically get
better simply by switching to an Electra Glide or Hayabusa.

I've never actually seen that one happen, but I *did* once see a rider
ahead of me get his left shoelace tangled up in his shift lever at a
stop light, and slooooooooly topple over to that side as he strugged
to get free.

Probably painful, and *very* hard on the ego.
