Exactly. I've yet to meet anyone who blames the troops for the mess they've
been put in.
Orders come from the top down, and I'd bet there were few if any enlisted
men who were going around pre-Iraq saying "Boy! I'd just *love* to invade a
small middle-eastern country and get myself killed in somebody else's
civil/theological war!".

And this should be so surprising, huh? When did that expression
"fubar" come about? WWII? Screw-ups and setbacks are more the norm
than exceptions to the rule.

C'mon, Don... FUBAR (as well as SNAFU and JANFU) are acronyms... Treat
them with the respect they deserve... ;)
