So, new bikes sold in Oz still have on/off switches? On every
motorcycle sold in the US since (IIRC) 1973, the headlight is always
on. The light switch goes from high to low, but you cannot turn it
off.

My 1977 USA-spec KZ650B1 had an on/off switch for the headlight, the
'78 and later models didn't have the switch, AFAIK.

Most new bikes in Oz are sold without light switches, and the lights hardwired
on.

However, that does NOT mean that it is compulsory for motorcycles to
have their lights on at all times.
