Racial prejudice in Arizona? How about border states being forced to bear
the brunt of the negative impact on unenforced immigration laws by a self
serving central bureaucracy. A bureaucracy that has clearly stated it will
use that as a tool to control and intimidate the local government
organizations into doing things "their way." A bureaucracy whose current
primary members benefit long term from increased numbers of the illegal
immigrants who manage to achieve some form of legitimacy (or bear children)
who then join in larger numbers their political party.
Racial prejudice may be in issue with some supporters, but it is not the
root cause of the need for some better form of enforcement. All conflicts
in the history of the world except a few core groups of religious or
religious like extremists has been about money. Or more specifically about
control of assets. Even many of the extremists groups can trace their
origins to finance issues or perceived finance issues.
Crusades you say? Simple. Two many surviving 2nd and 3rd sons, and not
enough inheritances available to sons of noble families.

You see the symptom but not the cause. Every time I see the news it talks
about mass graves on the Mexican side. Seems that (surprise) the cartels
are using migrant laborers as mules to bring dope into the USA. Last figure
I heard was $50 billion worth. Gee, $50 billion for a weed that grows wild
or some coke that sells for under 1/10 that south of the border. Makes
sense to legalize the shit and use the taxes to pay down the debt, or at
least it makes sense to me. Prolly don't seem smart to the people who are
making the $billions or to the politicians they own.
Remember the story about the monkeys, the ladder, the bananas and the fire
hose?
