I guess then the later model Savages out of the box sound gay. My '87 stock
muffler has plenty of thump, doesn't sound like a lawn sprinkler.

Not since I discovered a slight "out of alignment" of my bike, which
manifests itself as a speedway stylee 45 degree off-angle approach to any
possible slow reacting obstacle if I stamp on the back brake:)

Add to that a lot of road camber and you can hit the pedestrian
with the rear of the bike as you go backwards.
That has its definite advantages. The rear end is so much
cheaper to fix than the front...
