In the process....off to the lawyer today. It seems the demerit points
aren't added to my sheet until I pay the fine or am found guilty in
court.....and if I get 100 points in two years it's this 3 month ban. On
the flip side, the demerit points become 'active' on the day of the fine
issue. In my case I'm 7 days short of my two years so the loss of
licence is a cert.

My cunning plan is to put off paying it for a couple of months (more
paperwork) so I can get in my holiday down South at the end of next
month, then go for the loss of licence in Dec through Feb, during that
time the boys are away for 6 weeks school holiday with my parents.

The lawyer will tell me how to bribe my way to a work licence....I've be
told between $1500 and $2k. It will allow me to drive a nominated
vehicle to and from work during nominated time frames.....the judge does
the nominating. :)

Well make sure you no longer have any 4 wheeled vehicles in your
name...creative rule adaptation is a learned skill. You just have make
sure that all his options favour you.

Since I'll be playing the solo dad card, a car will be the nomination
rather than the bike. :( I'll get my bike fix on dirt bikes since it
will be summer. call him sir, avert the eyes, have a shave, tidy
clothes......it's been a while, but I remember the routine.

I thought the lawyer would make everything clear cut, but the legal
system is a bloody minefield! He's got a couple of cunning options, but
I told him I wanted a quote before doing anything.....I can cope with a
couple of thousand, but these things can escalate. A mate spent over
$10k to get charges dropped.....sod that.

I can't even hand my licence in on the day I pay the ticket! I have to
wait for it to go through the courts and they send the bailiff around to
collect it......what an arse about face system.

On the up side......After my 3 month disqualification I start off with a
clean slate again!! :)
