No, but around town I generally keep the RPMs on my VFR800 just up into the
range where the power really comes on.

That way I've got maximum acceleration to get the hell out of Dodge should
the need suddenly arise.

Same here, though as of late, I've been more mindful of MPG for some
stupid reason... I ride a vTX1800 and gas should be the last thing on
my mind with that bike. Keeping extra power on hand in traffic is
excellent advice.
