Well, out here the employees pronounce it "Home Despot" when the boss
isn't listening.

Might work out.
I'm told that Despot employees spend a lot of their time afoot.

I almost married a girl who'd just barely missed qualifying for the US
Olympic Fencing team. Probably just as well I didn't.
I'd hate to be saying "Foiled again!" at this stage of my life.

We're in our spring hiring phase. Most folks are hired as part time,
temporary and we generally keep less than 10% of the very best of those
past the 90 days. Those that stay are still part time, but eligible
for benefits and can then contribute to a 401k, etc. As far as I'm
concerned, we have the best vision plan I've ever seen and it's very
reasonably priced for families. Health insurance is ok, but you
definitely pay your own way.
Two of my boys have been associates while going to school. One's still
with the company and the other left when he joined the Air Force.
Kevin just interviewed to be promoted at his current store. He's been
with us for two years now and decided he'd like more money for the work
he does. <g>
She'll probably be starting at minimum wage or slightly higher.
Cashiers are the highest turnover position in the company, due to most
being college students who move on quickly after graduation. It's a
stressful, boring job that has no real room for advancement unless a
person ends up moving out to the actual sales floor. We do take good
care of those who care about what they do in their job. Show some
initiative, exhibit some leadership and it's amazing where you can go
quickly. Since the first of the year, we've promoted three associates
to department managers and have a couple more that deserve it as soon
as openings become available. I figure that will happen soon enough
when we kick a couple DHs to Assistant Store Managers.
I have no idea how well we support our internal athletes. I do know we
have a lot of charity projects in the local community. We're in the
middle of setting one up now and I've been very busy working as the
leader on it for the past two weeks.
Hope that helps and tell her welcome aboard from one of the old timers. ;^)

Well, according to the radio channels in Grand Theft Auto 4, it is "Home
Cheapo", and it is where you go if you're a middle-aged woman to pick up a
Mexican who will "mow your lawn" properly.
And speaking of that, when is GTA 5 going to be out? I'm tired of Call of
Duty!
