ntion deprived troll:

Everybody knows it's the roads just off PCH that
are the real gems though. You can get rental bikes
these days. Next time you're on a business trip,
give it a shot. I can point you to some sweet roads.

I still have to explore some more of Nor Cal myself.

Yes! Rob knows his roads, What was that "road" just north of Alice's
Tancandero? Through the redwoods to Pacifica/Half Moon Bay?

Rented my bike near the Moscone Center, damn best business trip ever,
PCH to Santa Cruz, Skyline and back to SF going through the Castro.

Maybe again next September. Oracle Open World / Java One. If things
work out I'll ride my own out there and back, the company will pay the
equivalent of the air fare.

y

Tunitas and/or Lobitos creek.

Now for a really great ride though, I'd recommend
one from the Range of Light gypsy tour last summer.

Red Bluff, Ca via 36 to 3 to 96 to 5 to 66 to Howard Prairie.

Next day, Medford Or via 238 to 199 to Cave Junction, to 96
south to 299 to Arcata, Ca to Ferndale.

Return south via 101, 1, etc.

Topanga Canyon is my favorite... And Mullholland... I remember once
driving on a foggy night on Mullholland - totally lost - and I was at
the intersection of Mullholland and Mullholland...I was pretty freaked
out :)

Used to live off Old Topanga up near Big Rock. Great place,
but it collected wrecked sportbikes like bugs on a windshield.

And speaking of confusing intersections, ever try to call
for a tow truck to come to Washington Blvd a block east
of Washington ? And then try to persuade the dispatcher
that the truck was looking for you in the wrong location ?
