Shifting the CG aft certainly does not help, but the e52 on my
'98 vfr has never produced handling problems. It does change
the way the bike turns, at least at low speeds climbing the
Berkeley hills, but I put lots more than 8 pounds in it for
long freeway rides and there was never a hint of instability,
even when bucking stiff cross and head winds.
There are other luggage options. Hepco & Becker comes to
mind, that can't be the end of the list. I found no fault
with Givi.
