I completely agree.  I am getting pi$$ed off with the same regular 3
piping in on every thread.  Thanks Mr Turner for your reply :)

I do and have several of the slanging match threads on kill.  I started
this thread on the ebay forum, which is why it's not on ignore.  Why
Spacks has to hijack every thread with his drivel I don't know, but
amazingly, about 1 post in 1,000 he says in the ebay forum is useful.
That ratio is changing though and I'd say he is heading for the kill
file very soon

Mike, getting back to your original question, not all buyers are looking
for problems, or looking to cause trouble.  What the buyer says sounds
reasonable.  He probably bought the item as Christmas present, and
didn't check it before wrapping, so did not discover the loss until
Christmas.  Christmas has passed now, so he does not sound to be in too
much of a hurry.  You have promised him a refund or replacement, so he
is happy.  I would be.

What I have noticed, wearing my buyer's hat, is that sellers are
becoming even more paranoid - more so here (UK) than US.  Whenever I buy
something now, I seem to receive an immediate message thanking me for my
custom, thanking me for payment and telling me exactly when the item
will be posted, and when I should expect to receive it.  OK, you may say
that is how it should be, and I agree, but eBay has not always been like
that.  Perhaps sellers are now running scared, because of the revised
feedback arrangements.
