Less than a month to the Ride to the Rockies. I am chomping at the bit
to head out on the road.
Here is an invite for the group. If you are wanting to use High River as
a stopover point on the ride to Creston I have some room at my place. I
have a spare bedroom with a queen bed. I can set up the queen air bed in
the computer room and I have two couches.
Lyle is planning on staying here on the 13th.
Creston is a short ride from High River, maybe 425 kms and about seven
hours, if we stop and do the tourist thing from time to time.
There will be lots of cold beer in the fridge and Alberta beef for the
BBQ. If they are still playing hockey on the 13th I will have the game
on the flat screen.
You are all welcome.

Thanks for the offer, Don. Won't be taking you up on that, but am
REALLY looking forward to the ride. I am leaving noVa on Wednesday
morning, June 8. Looking forward to the longest continuous time off
work that I have ever taken in the 34 years since I started working
full time, ending with my son's wedding back in Virginia on the
weekend of June 25-26. I won't return to work until Monday, June 27.
This will also be my longest motorcycle ride since my x-country trip
to the US MotoGP at Laguna Seca in 2005.

Sounds great. I am anxious to head back out on the road myself. While
I like riding in my own back yard, I will miss taking a much longer ride
this year.
See ya in Creston!

Hmmm. Maybe we should reconsider our route, and go to Creston via Keith's
neighborhood and High River instead of coming up through Bonners Ferry. I
presume from HR to Creston the route is pretty scenic?

Not as scenic as the areas in BC we'll be riding through or the route
through Bonners Ferry. If you were planning on going through Bonners
Ferry you probably had the Going to the Sun road on your route. Now that
one is a scenic route. You can expect lots of road construction though.
They are always patching and repairing that road. Still a wonderful ride.
89 from Browning to St Mary is a terrific riding road, just keep your
eyes open for free range cattle.
If you decide to forego the Idaho panhandle and come through High River
you are more than welcome, but I can't match the scenery.
