I'm thinking of these for riding boots;

I'm guessing many, if not most, will think these overkill for
road/street riding but it would seem inconsistent to armor up
everywhere else on the body but not the feet.

I know the only time they may pay for themselves is during an accident
but that could be said for just about any piece of protective gear.
Injuries to feet and ankles seem pretty popular among riders even in
minor spills.

Don't care for the black/white but the black/blue would seem pretty
subtle.

Opinions? Suggestions of another boot that'll provide equal
protection?

Not waterproof. Redwing makes a Gore-Tex lace-up without insulation.
They are always dry unless I'm riding a bike with forward controls.
Then the water runs up my pants and wicks down my socks. Only
gaiters work in that case.

Had a pair in the early 70's. Nice boots but don't care that they're
pull-ons.

The only bone in my body I ever broke was my left ankle. The pain of
breaking it was nothing compared to the pain of the meds trying to get
my pull-on off though. And that was after they cut it down the side as
far as they could with the scissors available.

Thanx for the suggestion though.
