My home state (LA) requires an annual safety inspection for all motor
vehicles, including motorcycles, and a sticker showing date/month of next
due inspection date is proof of such inspection. For cars and trucks, the
sticker must be affixed to the lower corner drivers side windshield.
However, for bikes the sticker is not affixed to the bike at all, simply
must be presented for inspection by LEO.
Here's my question: I know other states have different requirements for
displaying the safety inspection sticker. If I'm riding through some other
state, will I get hasseled by local LEO about the sticker?

Probably not. You have Lousiana plates, so only a real asshole of a cop
would write you up for not having the proper sticker for the state he's
in.
In some states, there's no inspection or sticker at all.

No. Local and state LEO only care about vehicles licensed in their own
state. They can't do anything if you are from another one, i.e. your
plate is 'out-of-state.'

I doubt it. Your plate is proof you are registered out of state, and as long as
you can prove it was inspected.

You can always get hassled, but if your tag is not of that state, your
vehicle is not subject to that state's inspection laws, which include
placement of the inspection sticker. Of course, you can still get a
ticket, but it won't hold water in court. I've been thru this very
thing before.
