A gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in San Diego retails for an
average price of $4.61 a gallon. A few miles south, in Tijuana, it's
about $2.54. A government subsidy on gasoline is aimed at controlling
inflation.

Just like 1979.
Borrow an old Winnibago with a 100 gallon tank to haul gas for your bike
back legally.

My neighbor told me people on my street have been having gas siphoned
from their tanks! This in good old suburban America.

It's like prescription drugs or about half the US price in Mexico. Too
bad I can't justify a 250 mile round trip drive just to fill my tank.
Can I take two or three 55 gallon drums down, fill um' up and get back
across the boarder?
