I prefer Stinko brand tires.

Yup.
It's well-thought-out, sober, intellectual ripostes such as this that
score big points with Netzians who enjoy classic literature.
But I thought the Sheriff had died?

Never heard of the Shinko brand before.
"In 1998 the Shinko Group purchased the motorcycle tire technology and
molds from Yokohama Rubber Co., and began production of these products
under the Shinko Tire brand. With manufacturing based in South Korea
and design based in Japan, the company has seamlessly combined
Japanese engineering and design principles with South Korean
production and quality control standards. Today Shinko Tires produces
approximately 200,000 motorcycle tires per month."
I suppose Shinko builds car tires, too...
Yokohoma tires were never popular in the USA, and I haven't seen any
in the last 20 years. A Japanese acquaintance who got me interested in
going road racing
had one set of Yokohomas on his GSXR because he got them free...
Another acquaintance used a set of soft Yokohomas on his Mazda RX-7
when he went slalom racing.
When a Japanese company moves to Korea for production, it's because of
cheaper labor. I can't say anything about quality.

To clarify my statement, I was referring to Yokohoma tires on
*motorcycles*.
