Beware of the new rolling-stop camera around Mulholland Drive and Coldwater
Canyon Ave (Franklin Canyon Dr. in Wilacre Park).

I'm thinking they are targeting motorcyclists on that road.  Should be
interesting as the legislature outlawed them but the Park Rangers believe
they are immune from the article.

Why?  Is there some reason motorcycles shouldn't stop at a stop sign?

"...a machine will make calculations to determine whether a vehicle did
not stop for a long enough period and deserves a fine. "

How long, under CVC, must a vehicle be stopped?  I wasn't aware there
was a set period of time.

I recall a certain Stop Sign Enforcement Officer who routinely
'patrolled' a stop sign in NorCal...  This guy pulled me over and
severely warned me that I had to put my feet down when I came to a stop.
It didn't matter that I was fully stopped for more than two seconds
(albeit with both feet on the pegs) before I safely proceeded.  He wanted
to see my feet on the ground.

Next time I rolled up to that stop sign and saw him patrolling it I
drug both feet along the ground for the last 50 feet prior to the limit
line.  *Just* before coming to a complete halt I put both feet on the
pegs, came to a complete two-second stop, and carried along my way.  I
still haven't found anything in the CVC that says a motorcyclist must put
a foot down in order for it to count as a stop...

If you really want to get them going, wait for them to pull you over
then conduct the entire stop with your feet STILL on the pegs.

When I worked at a Suzuki dealer a few years ago, we had a Burgman 650
come in that a guy installed an extra pedal and set of wheels that came
down to hold the bike upright at a full stop; your feet never touched
the ground.

Shit...  I ain't *THAT* good...  I'm good for about three seconds, max,
with the wife on board and maybe five or six solo...

  That's funny...
