While riding aimlessly this afternoon I glanced down at my Zumo 660 to
see what the next turn looked like and the screen switched to a
photograph on the approaching interchange. Very cool.

Hoping Garmin may have fixed the lousy map details on the 660, the other
day I updated the unit's software and mapping product.  Instead of
allowing the damn thing to function as a map, it appears they added
photos of major intersections.  Although that is a neat feature, I would
gladly trade it for being able to see a map, with some detail while riding.

I am not so sure how useful it will be. It might be a bit of a
distraction trying to get perspective with a photo while navigating in
unfamiliar territory.

Don't get me started <g>
