He couldn't find a clean Honda Magna for decent money, so he saw a
1997 Marauder at a dealer. I stopped by after work to look at it with
him. He bought it.

It's not a huge bike - medium cruiser type with Cobra pipes, dual
carbs. The thing hauls axx and is geared taller than most bikes in
that class and sounds excellent.

I got it up past 60 tonight in 3rd gear before I realized the limit
was only 45. In fact, I left my son far behind riding my VTX, but he's
not a "test rider" like i was tonight :)-

By contast, my Aero 750 would groan in 4th at 60.

Cosmetically, the bike looks almost like new, but it does have 20,000
mi. The engine fires right up. Puts out a lot of heat, but the fan/rad
combo seems adequate.

To be honest, that 800 would be all I need for riding, but I have to
hold out with my VTX until he graduates with a high enough average
that I can give it to him.
