Well, I tried to sell my group on Natchez Trace for this year's
spring ride, but some of the guys were put off by the 50 mph
speed limit. We ride from north of Atlanta for 3-4 days making
about 400 miles per day, so Natchez Trace would have been about
right. It looks like Kentucky and eastern Tennessee this year.
Thanks for the suggestions.

?? Can't the fast guys just speed and meet you later, when you catch up
at that nights destination?

The problem with Natchez Trace is some of the guys know they will
speed and probably get caught. They don't want to take the chance.
You're only talking 4-8 people so we try to find a route everyone
agrees to.

Sort of blows away the idea that bikes give you "freedom" though, doesn't
it? Riding in a group where the max speed is 50mph must rate as THE most
boring way to end freedom.
I was invited out of a "Ride-out" for this weekend where the rules were
simple. No faster than 50 and no overtaking. I thought about it for a second
and decided that I'd rather stick hot pins down my Jap's eye and then finish
off by sticking them in both my other eyes.

Here are a few suggested routes: http://www.huntslodge.com/local.html#routes
Now if you could just find a central location to stay while you're riding those
routes... ;-)
