The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review said the accident happened on Second
Avenue near the 10th Street Bridge.
A witness told Channel 4 Action News that Roethlisberger went over the
handlebars, hit the windshield of another vehicle and then hit the
ground.
Roethlisberger was not wearing a helmet, according to the
Tribune-Review. In the past, he has publicly said he prefers to ride
helmetless, which is legal in Pennsylvania.

I'd just read the story online. It said he was alert and conscious - I
hope he's OK.

Yeah, and maybe the idiot gets his head together and gets a helmet. Nice
role model that. What a freaking maroon. really though, I suspect there will
be a provision written into his contract, if there already isn't,
restricting him from riding while under contract with the ball club. His
fault or not, they should force him to do a bunch of PS Announcements about
wearing helmets.
