The good:
2001 model, yellow (well known as the fastest Ducati color)
I'll be putting it on eBay for $2500 opening bid and no reserve.
It is stock, except for MPL frame plugs, T-Rex racing nylon front fork
sliders, a pristine, oem ST3 seat, a dark smoke, taller Zero Gravity
windscreen, Heli bars, carbon fiber top fork yoke beauty cover, carbon
fiber heel guards, billet aluminum countershaft sprocket cover, carbon
fiber (closed) clutch cover, carbon fiber tank protector, and the
infamous self-retracting sidestand has been modified.
It has good Pirelli Diablo Corsa III tires (date code rear 30th week
2006; front 19th week od 2007), recent full service including belts
and valve adjustment, and is showing just over 15,000 miles. Complete
service history, owners manuals, toolkit, factory U-lock and keys.
The cosmetically bad:
Has left-side tip-over damage consisting of
1. scuffing on the black part of the saddlebag,
2. a 2 inch vertical crack in a re-painted (originally red) left side
center fairing panel just above the "D" in the "Ducato ST4" lettering
3. a 1-1.25 inch crack on the inside (rider's side) of the left side
of the fairing nose,
4. cracked left turn signal lens, but I have bought and will a
replacement, new, oem lens to replace it (turn signal works fine)
5. properly touched up scratches on the leading edge of the left side
mirror
6. neither inner fairing lower side beauty panels (surround the lower
edge of the instrument panel and hide the fuse box on the left and the
radiator overflow tank on the right) are installed; I have two
duplicate new, oem right-side covers, and the original, cracked oem
left side beauty cover, neither of which can be installed until the
fairing is removed and the left upper fairing bracket is bent back
into position or replaced. It leaves the top part of the fairing
slightly skewed inwards and down (guessing about 3/4's of an inch off
true.)
Also has:
1. a replacement pristine oem painted ST4S (mismatched lettering, but
not paint) right side center fairing panel,
2. . a single small (about 3/4-inch) scratch near the gas filler cap
on the gas tank that have been properly touched up with the correct
color yellow touch-up paint,
3. a well-hidden vertical gouge on the black plastic chain guard
behind the left saddlebag where a previous owner bolted the left-side
muffler on with a too-long bolt that scraped the chain guard when the
suspension was compressed. The bolt has been replaced with a proper
length replacement.
4. scratch in the black plastic part of the right saddlebag,
5. sun-yellowed, crazed plastic coating on oem Brembo brake lever
Functionally, the only problem with the bike is a randomly misbehaving
sidestand down switch that prevents the starter motor button from
engaging. I'm tracking that down and planning to fix it before the
bike goes up for sale.
Runs great, oem suspension is 3-way adjustable front and rear. Rode
it back to back with my buddy's ST4S with Ohlins and it comported
itself quite well.
Pix available upon request.

What motor does it have? 996?
I am semi interested now, know that it will cost me >$1K just to get the
plastics in order.
I was really hoping it was an ST4S.
I was also hoping it was a few years younger.
I agree that yellow is the fastest!

I agree. Pull the trigger.
I'm still thinking about that old Yammy Enduro. Dude just will not
come down. :-(

For some reason the subject line of this thread reminds me of one of the
first MOD files I ever downloaded to my 386-DX40.
