The leaders of the World Superbike race at Monza were hitting 326 kmh
on the straights this afternoon...

I'm going to guess they aren't racing 2006 Honda Shadow 600's this year.

They can run 1000cc inline 4's or 1098cc twins. The engines put out
well over 200 horsepower.

If I could do just once what this guy does all season, I could die
happy...

You know, a still photo like that doesn't do the speed justice. In the
photo, he looks like he just dropped his keys and is leaning over to pick
them up.
I'm guessing he is going more than 10 MPH.

Telephoto lenses definitely destroy the impression of speed.
Spectators do get an impression of speed if they stand right by the
fence as a group of rider roar past within six feet though.
If AMA Pro Racing ever returns to Elkhart Lake, WI, you should ride
over there and spectate.

Ben Spies is about 6' 6" and his nickname is "Elbows" because of the
way they stick out when he's riding. He could easily pick his keys up
off the ground.
