Does a fairly large single like the Savage vibrate much? I'm talking
mainly about handlebar vibration?

Savage motor has a countershaft balancing system.  It does a
good job of minimising vibration.  Also, being a large single
it redlines at 6,500 RPM.  Cruise at 65 MPH (105 KMH), engine
is turning at around 4,400 RPM, at 70 MHP (120 KMH), 4,800
RPM.  (Mine is a 1987 4-speed, 1995 and newer 5-speed turns
300 RPM lower.)  Vibes are milder at these lower RPM's
compared with higher revs of some motors.

OTOH, my 1971 Honda CB100 at speeds above 45 MPH is very
tiring because of the high frequency vibes.  After 40 minutes
riding, my hands are really tingling.  (I don't have a tach,
but SL125 motor I am using redlines at 10,500 RPM and I am
running near that at 55 MPH.

With the Savage, YMMV, but vibes don't bother me.  There might
be some tingling in the hands after a long ride, but nothing
near what my CB100 or lawnmower does.  If it concerns you,
then use a good pair of gel palm gloves.
