I plan on taking the MSF course in June however I would like to start
practicing for the course so I feel more confident in my abilities by
then. I live in Pennsylvania and would love to know what they test you
on and/or expect of you so I can start working on it now. I am sure the
tests are fairly similar from state to state so please leave a comment
even if you do not reside in PA.
Thanks

First off, don't stress about the testing. You will get plenty of
practice on the range for the tests. If you want to practice, I suggest
getting on a bicycle and doing a lot of riding around, especially slow speed
stuff. Also get a tennis ball and start exercising your grip, especially
your left hand, this will help aleviate any muscle strain you may encounter
from squeezing the clutch continually.
Other than that, there really isn't too much for you to do. You can go
to the MSF website and look around there (www.msf-usa.org), you will find
some useful information there. The best advice I can give you is try not to
overthink riding. Just listen to the Rider Coaches and do exactly what they
say. If you put too much thought into what you are doing on the range, you
will struggle. Superbike champion Matt Mladin said once that if you think
about everything that is going on while you are on the track, your mind will
be on lap five while the bike is on lap ten.

Oh, just in case you have not read my other topics, I should let you
know that I do own and ride a Honda Rebel 250cc. I have also read that
they use these bikes for the course. That is good to know since I am
already familiar with this bike.

Well then, you should not have a problem. Just practice coordinating clutch
and throttle and turning your head.

This is good advice.
Clutch/throttle/brake coordination is key. Good balance is likewise obviously
essential.
It'll be useful if you already know how to ride smoothly at 1-2 mph
slipping the clutch and dragging the rear brake. If you can do that
you'll be well prepared.
