This caught my eye today:
http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/06/26/dc.train.driver/index.html
This comes several days after the posting here "Betcha blacksow on drugs" or
similar.
I'm guessing that a lot of white passengers owe their lives to the fact that
the black gal reacted to the automatic control failure and was able to cause
the train to shed at least some energy.
That ought to cause the racist weasels to lose some sleep.

Going from one extreme to the other, I really don't think slamming on
the brakes before an imminent collision makes someone a "hero" either.
Nor does just doing your job. Lowering standards based on race isn't
very helpful for anyone. Can't we have accidents anymore that are just
that? I'll bet lots of people are praying that the last ones to work
on the control system are white. Gotta blame someone.

The standards I referred to are for what makes someone a hero. If the
operator had been a white male, would anyone be calling him a hero for
applying the brakes?

>No, because if we did, nothing will be done to stop a re-occurrence.
There are lots of technical types on this group, and we all understand
that things fail, and not everything is predictable.

>Someone NEEDS blaming for this.
Why?
