Back when I was racing, I used to hear "Don't you know how *DANGEROUS* that
is?" intoned in a horrified manner quite frequently.
My reply was, "Not really. At least on the track you *know* everybody out
there has a lisense, they're all sober, and they're all going in the same
direction."
