2006 Honda Shadow 600.

It is getting time for new tires for me.  I've been using Dunlop 404's.

Question #1:  What is the best criteria to use for when to replace them?  Is
3/32" tread depth the right criterion?

Question #2:  My back is worn more than the front.  Any thoughts about
replacing or not replacing the front at the same time?

Thanks, Datesfat.

I usually wear out the back first, so I replace them separately.

The tires ought to have wear bars you could look at
or you could change them when tire wear starts to
affect the handling.

Alternately, I suggest a tread depth of approximately
3.748 mm averaging 10 readings around the center of
the tread, using a recently calibrated digital caliper.

I usually wear out two rears per front . If the wear pattern on the front
is funny , if the handling is weird , or it's badly cupped , replace it . I
figger as long as it handles OK and has enough tread to shed water , I'll
run it .
If that two to one ratio holds , I'll get over 30k on the front ... love
those Dunlop Elite 3's !!
