I recently started riding in to work now that I don't have to haul the kids
to school. While the morning temps are a nice 75F degrees, the evening temps
is around 100F. I'm not seeing too many other riders now... am I crazy to be
riding now? The wind feels like a hair dryer in the evening... but I can
handle it.
Any precautions?

Heat doesn't stop me. On hot days I wear a perforated armored jacket
and MX gloves. I open all the vents on my helmet & drink lots of
liquids before I leave work.

Use lots of sunscreen, wear white or lighter clothing and drink lots of
vodka. Mostly, just keep moving. It's been between 90 and 105 here (with
high humidity for this area). I'm still riding every day.
It's funny how all Winter long we dream of the dog days of Summer. and when
they are upon us, we dream of the chillier climes of Fall and Winter.

Maybe that should tell you something?

Could be. So, you're asking the crazies on Reeky for their advice? Does that
make sense?
>The wind feels like a hair dryer in the evening...
Tell me about it. It feels I opened the oven door around 4:00 PM here in the
San Joaquin valley. The high temperature will be 100 degree or higher every
day from Memorial Day until the end of September.
So I do my pleasure riding in the morning and get home by noon and turn on
the AC.

Some people prefer pain to pleasure.

Carry bottled water and a cell phone with you, in case you break down, if you
feel you just have be out riding in all that heat.
