My 24k miles SABRE V65 recently has developed a condition:
With engine turning below 2,500/3,000 rpm it misses as if one piston
wil not ignite, however if the rpms go beyond the 3000 mark it turns
powerful and smooth running.
Any ideas what to look for?
Thanks,
Pedro I.

Plugs, plug wires.

Go to Wal*Mart or any good auto parts store and buy a can of Berryman
B12 Choke and Carburetor Cleaner and add 4 or 5 ounces to a full tank
of gasoline.
That will clean out the idle mixture jets and passages and cure your
miss.

When you stored it for the winter, did you run any fuel stabilizer through it?
No? I thought so. If you store one of these bikes for the winter, you must run
some fuel stabilizer through it or you're going to face this every spring. Since
1995, every street bike I have owned has been a V4 Honda (total of 8 for the
household).
Get a good fuel system cleaner, Berryman's, Techron, or any of the major brand
names. Pour a bottle in the tank, fill the tank to the top with good gas, and
ride it. It may take 2 or 3 tanks of fuel mixed with cleaner to clear it up but
that will usually do the trick.
If you have any more V-4 Honda questions, ask me. I've had two V65s including a
1985 V65 Sabre and a V45 Magna, my wife currently has a VF500 Interceptor and a
VF750 Magna and she was riding a V65 Magna when I met her. To say we are V4
fanatics would be an understatement.
Take a look at http://www.sabmag.org for more than you could ever hope to find
on first generation Honda V4 models (that includes your 1100 Sabre).

OR it may begin to run MUCH worse almost instantly.

Well maybe EXCEPT how much carb cleaner to use........... ;-)
One whole bottle in a MC tank = 5 to 15 times the recommended amount,
depending on size of tank and size of bottle.
Better to read the instructions and use no more than 2X the recommendation.
