I'm looking for the old formula Yamaha Carb Cleaner. Bottle looks
like: http://www.randakks.com/Yamaha%20Carburetor%20Cleaner.jpg
Part # ACC-CARBC-LE-QT or ACC-CARBC-LE-NR.
The old stuff contained 2-Butoxyethanol and Xylene, the new stuff
contains Glycol Ethers and Xylene.
The old stuff is what I'm looking for. Said to mix 1:3 with
gasoline. New stuff is diluted with water (no good).
If anyone has a spare bottle or two or know where I could find it,
would be forever in your debt.
Shoot me an email if you have any or know of a source.
Many thanks.

Just go to any Wal*Mart or an auto parts store and buy a pint of Berryman B12
Chemtool Choke and Carburetor Cleaner for about $3.50.

From Berryman's page
http://www.berrymanproducts.com/Default.aspx?tabid 5:
"We do not recommend this product for cleaning of rubber or plastic parts."
The Yamaha cleaner was easy on the rubber, plastic, felt, etc. which
made it ideal for the in-carb cleaning method.

Well, gosh. They should have mentioned that 30 years ago. I've been using B12
to clean my carbs since the mid-1970's without damaging any rubber or plastic
parts.
How stupid of me to get such good results with a product that's "not
recommended" for
cleaning carburetors, even though that's what it says it's for, right on the
container.
www.berrymanproducts.com
Toluene 40-50%
Methanol 20-30%
Acetone 20-30%
Methyl Ethyl Ketone 1-5%
2-Butoxyethanol 1-5%
Isopropanol 1-5%
Mixed Xylenes 1-5%
