When I was in the dealership on Friday, I spotted this:

Is this motorcycle, snowmobile, or what?
For all I know, the youngsters are going with the Mad Max/nuclear winter/gas
mask look.

I'm kind of disappointed. I like the nuclear winter/gas mask look.

A built in gas mask would be handy for those smoggier cities? Being tear
gas proof would be a bonus. :)

I've heard that those who have been around the block a few times largely
ignore tear gas and can participate in some pretty fun riots without masks.
51% of the effectiveness of tear gas is not knowing exactly what it is and
what it will and will not do to you. The terror of not being able to
breathe and fear of death are real if you don't know what the stuff is.
Of course, 49% is inability to breathe because each breath results in a
violent cough, inability to see, facial pain, ringing in the ears, etc.
Thick gloves are helpful, though, so you can lob the tear gas canisters back
at the police. They design them so they get way too hot to handle almost
instantly when they're deployed.
These are just things I've heard. I have no direct experience, of course.
