Well in truth it was a crappy day to go for a ride but it had been a
long time since I was on two wheels it still felt good.
I am moving next month and had to get the Road King out of the bike shed
so I can move the shed off the property. Seems my Realtor thinks a beat
up metal garden shed detracts from the curb appeal of my beat up old
townhouse. Go figure.
Anyway I needed to move the RK to the garage I have been renting. With
the temps nudging 10 c. today I had a bit of a window before the snow
starts again tomorrow.
Talk about crappy roads though. Ice, slush, gravel, mud and water flying
everywhere. After a measly ten miles my bike looks like it has just
ridden the Alaska Highway.
After an extended period in hibernation the bike fired up instantly,
although it ran rough for the first few miles. I topped it up with some
fresh gas and that seemed to help. After ten minutes or so it was
running great. Damn hit that throttle and what a rush.
Three more months and winter will be over. :-(

Good on ya, Don. With these temperatures I was pretty tempted to do
the same today.

Had I not had to move the bike I probably wouldn't have taken it out in
these road conditions and had the roads been better it would have been a
much longer ride.
A couple of months more and we will have this winter behind us.

I'm distinctly jealous. With our latest snowfall, that next ride seems
to be a long ways off. And congrats on the new living quarters. Does
it come with it's own pole barn for project storage? hehe

No need to be jealous. Aside from the thrill of hearing the rumble and
having self induced wind in my face again, the roads were so bad it took
most of the enjoyment out of the brief ride. In fact after sliding the
last two blocks over a rutted frozen glacier I was happy to have the
bike secured in the garage, still upright.
And congrats on the new living quarters. Does it

I think by intent I avoided buying something with a "pole barn". That's
not to say I didn't look at a few. I realized the kind of trouble I
could make for myself if I went that route and decided on something more
practical.
I will have more room for toys and projects at the new place, but not a
lot more.
I will also have more room for travelling guests. Keep that in mind if
you are looking for a stopover in this area next spring.
