We've repeatedly discussed which is more economical to own and
operate, but the Discovery channel show "Mythbusters" tackled the
question of which is less damaging to the environment, a car or a
motorcycle.

Their conclusion was that cars were less damaging because of their
lower emissions, even while they built a streamlined 250cc 4-stroke
single that returned 70pg in their test loop.

Things they did NOT consider in their comparison:

1. Pollution at the point of raw material extraction, transport, and
manufacture of the parts for the vehicles.
2. Pollution at the point of transport of the vehicles from production
to retail sale
3. Pollution at the point of extractions, refinement, and transport of
the extra fuel for the car
4. Wear and tear on the road system
5. Paved parking area comparison
6. Paved lanes needed for cars vs for motorcycles

If you spent more time in the garage and less time watching TV you
wouldn't have to ponder difficult questions like this.

Having said that I hope you don't have a TV in your garage!

I don't know Don; you're the guy who is taping, mudding, sanding,
painting, central heating, carpeting, trimming, and furnishing your
garage with a recliner, a mini-fridge, and a wireless hi-fi
system.......

.... I, for one, expect *great* garage stories from *you* this winter!
