Here 're a few quick photos of my trip to Whitehorse for the purposes
of attending my first ever HOG Rally.
This is my wife, Sue. We'd just crossed the border into Beaver Creek
(Thursday) Canada and stopped to take a break.

This is a pic of Don, Gladys, Sue, and my sister Lynn in Whitehorse.
We ran into Gladys downtown, Friday.

Well, she does look a little stern here, alright:

Or maybe that was caused by this?

That would do it for Sue. I participated in putting on a display of
electronic bid sets at a hotel once, accompanied by a young girl whose
skirt stopped only a few millimeters below her snatch (as near as I
could tell...not that I was looking...very often). Sue dropped by to
check it all out. Electricity filled the air as soon as she saw
Amanda. It would be funny if such insane jealousy wasn't such a pain
in the ass.

Heh, heh. Not as bad as it looks for me, Robert. It's buddy (who
rode with us), getting her phone number in this pic:
http://xidos.ca/bikes/whitehorse/pics/IMG_2326.JPG
(added bonus: she was writing the number on one of those condom
packages supplied by the City of Whitehorse in our rally kit)
The night before, she and 3 other gals had taken us under their wing
when we went to the bar. They bought the 3 of us drinks the entire
night (which lasted well past 3 am).
Leaving our bikes at the first place, they drove us from nightspot to
nightspot in a white Cadillac they had access to. I shit you not.
That got to be a bit of a wild night - especially near the end.
Including a street fight when leaving the last place.
And no, it wasn't me or my friend involved. Some blonde chicky made a
wrooooong remark to one of the gals we were with and got her lights
out for it.
Just prior to that, it was getting quite close to a scrap with the
bouncers because we were refusing to leave. Then, while all the
commotion was going on, Gladys noticed her leather jacket had
disappeared from her chair. She had her pocket purse with all our
money in its pocket.
"Oh man! Someone took off with it during the distraction." I thought.
But, as it turned out, one of the gals - fearful of what was going to
happen next - had run out of the bar to the car, thinking it wise to
take Gladys' jacket with her. Whew, that was a bit tense.
Now... don't that just make you, Sue and Lynn wish you had been with
us? ;) Here's one of the gals (with Gladys), attending the bike
rodeo:
http://xidos.ca/bikes/whitehorse/pics/IMG_2327.JPG
The next evening, they came once more - knocking at the motel door,
suggesting we go out again.
Having had my fill of the bar scene the night before (and suspecting
we might have used up our luck), I suggested we find a campsite, bring
beer and sit around a campfire. That was a fun evening. The gals
even brought weiners, buns and all the fixin's.
And a guitar. A couple of them could really sing! (one had perfomed
on the Nashville Network) Talk about great, Yukon hospitality.
Again, things didn't break up until past 3. But time seems to have no
meaning up there. At that time of year it stays so light out, the
birds are still flying around all night.
So that's why we got up late and missed all the scheduled morning
events...
