I've noticed quite a few makers of expensive armored clothing - of the
jacket and pants variety - also sell Gore-Tex or some other liner to go on
the "inside" of either: Motoport and BMW clothing come to mind and neither
is cheap.
No problem taking the jacket off to put in the liner should it start to
rain.
But who ever thought someone was going to take his pants off along the road
to put a rain liner in? Seems an outside-of-the-pants rain pant would have
been a better idea.

If you're wearing a wicking layer under it's no problem.

You don't/can't put the waterproof liner in or take it out, it's all part of
the "build", it's the THERMAL lining that's removable.

Check again. The Gore-Tex zip-out lining on my BMW riding suit is quite
waterproof but adds little insulation.

Nice thing about a rain suit on the outside is that you can replace it at
Walmart in an emergency.
