The obvious question is do those statistics reflect an exceptional
danger in the location or exceptional popularity of the location?

Based on the text and the accompanying picture, my guess is that these
really should be called the "worst roads for motorcyclists who are
acting like idiots."
My personal top choice for Worst Roads Ever For Motorcycles would have
to be I-70 between Denver and St. Louis, or I-80 pretty much the whole
way from Salt Lake to at least Davenport, IA. Either way, it's hundreds
of miles of flat-and-straight with nothing to look at other than corn,
wheat, or in the case of crossing Wyoming....well, pretty much nothing.
Eccccch.

I did that one in a pouring rain. All day long. I could see a patch of
clear sky ahead of me for most of the day but I never did catch it.
I stopped at a truck stop to use the bathroom. Left a trail of water in and a
trail of water out. I was dry inside the rainsuit, but trucks were pulling off
the road, it was raining so hard. I had an appointment in St. Louis to help a
lady friend load a BMW 650 in her truck and couldn't afford to wait out the
rain.
