Yeah, my VTX1800 has a load capacity of like 408lbs, but I think that
just saves harmless the manufacturer for warranty purposes. My 1800
can carry me, my wife, the kids, and the dog (if I could fit 'em).
Plus, they make towing gear for the RSTD, whihc tells me it's got more
hauling capacity than the literature admits.

generally speaking, yama makes junky bikes. as far back as i can
remember, everyone that i know who have owned a yama bike, have had
problems with them.

Checked out the Yamaha Royal star Tour Deluxe - 1300cc, V-4, about $15K

Man, that is one big bike - at least as bigger, but felt bigger than
my VTX1800; seat is higher, too and it feels wider. Seemed well
balanced, but all they'd let me do is test sit it. I liked the
handlebars and the seating. It just felt overall larger than my 1800.
