Harley will be introducing a 500cc bike next year, probably in the
Sporster line.
Although I was not privy to the conversation, a good friend of mine
was. The information came from the owner of one of the major Canadian
HD dealerships, during a conversation about how HD, along with other
manufacturers are trying to get a larger piece of the younger market.
Let the bickering begin.

Let me guess, a Sportster engine with only one 500cc cylinder,
in a small frame that's newbie-friendly, belt drive, light
weight, hmmm.
I'll just go out on a limb, I know it sounds dumb, but how about
calling it a "Blast". Naw, it would never sell.

How did it do the first time around?
I am not sure recycling the Blast would have much appeal in the
market, but you could be right.

Gotta put chrome skull-themed dust caps[1] on the tire valves,
nekkid ladies painted on the tank, you know, that sort of
thing- they'll sell like hotcakes. None of this imitation
crotch rocket shit, that's where they went wrong the first time.
[1] with red light-up LED eyes! Hell Yeah!

Far be it from HD to trot out the same tired design year after year.
