I find it entertaining that the driver who *caused* the accident is being
fined $106.50, while Roethlisberger will pay $388. (This according to the
Los Angeles Times.)
Somebody in Pennsylvania has their priorities screwed up.

The PA law is that if you haven't had your license for two years, you
have to wear a helmet. He didn't have a license, so he was also sited
for no helmet while operating a MC....as he should have been.
Still the person who turned left in front of him should be paying the
medical bills and reconstructive surgery cost.

And likely will, if found to be 'at fault'.

Perhap, but most states also have contributory negligence on the
books. Mr. Roethlisberger had no business being on the road with a
Hayabusa. I.E. he shouldn't have been there to be hit.
To be honest, I think anyone who rides a Hayabusa without appropriate
gear (boots, gloves, jacket, and helmet) is courting disaster.

I'd edit that sentence by adding the word "almost" after "think" and I'd
strike "thout appropriate gear (boots, gloves, jacket, and helmet)". :p
