Since his face was cut up, clearly he needed to wear one. Whether the
law compelled him to is another matter.

Yea that way his neck could of been broke. Unless it was a 3/4 or 1/2.
And that could not of protected his jaw.

That reminds me of the salad bowl story in the news here a while back.
Guy got pulled over on Fiesta Island for wearing a salad bowl strapped
to his head. Cop wrote him a ticket. The guy said, "Can I have the bowl
back? My wife'll kill me!"
