Nope, can't wait. My regular ride has been an FJR1300 for three and a
half years, and an FJ1200 before that. Looking forward to trying the
boxer.

Pleasant.

For about half the price of an Edelweiss tour you can rent a top notch
motorcycle and buy a GPS and make your own road.

Maybe next time. Ich spreche nur ein bischen Deutsch, und my Italian's
even worse. From what I did check out, the bike rental alone would be
almost half what I'm paying for the trip, and then there's a week of hotel
and food.
Traveling in a group and having someone follow with the bags instead of
having to carry everything with me is certainly worthwhile, especially in
more remote parts of countries I've never been in.
If it turns out to not have been worth it, I'll certainly say so when I
get back.

"Ja. Zwanzig Deutschmarks."

"Spaghetti e chianti, per favore."
