I recently brought a new HJC helmet, an IS-16 with the internal
'fighter pilot' type slide down visor. Great idea but the knob to slide
forward to push the visor down fell off (on the move of course!). I
phoned up to order the necessary part only to be told they weren't
available.....but it had happened to other helmets and they just
replaced the helmets. Too bad for me I have painted my helmet so I can't
return it.
Looks like I will be going into the shop, pulling the bit I need off a
new helmet and leave it at that!

Do you mean to say that you're going to the motorcycle shop to
*steal* the part you need?

No, I'm going to get my replacement part that they don't realise they
are carrying in stock (on the shelf), then they can sort out what to do
with the leftovers......like send that helmet from the shelf back for a
replacement.

That's what I like about buying from a local dude. He makes the money
and all, but also supports the product. Especially important on tires
and such.

Thats the way I see it. If there's going to be no back-up, I might as
well bypass the bike shop and get stuff off the internet.
