My Dnepr just coughed up a fluid ounce or so of creamy, frothy
white stuff that smells like burnt oil and looks like vanilla
milkshake (but doesn't bring all the boyz to the yard. Mebbe
Kilis could teach me... but she'd have to charge).

It seemed to have come out of a vent with a plastic cap.
Could anyone give me a clue what's going on. The motor isn't
seized (yet) but the boyz are waiting.

Sounds like oil mixed with condensed water , coming from the crankcase .
Warm it up *thoroughly* then change the oil . If you've been doing short
runs in this cold weather , the motor probably hasn't been getting warm
enough to boil out the condensates and combustion blow-by . That stuff mixes
with the oil to form that cream-colored frothy emulsion - which is very bad
for your motor .

A Minnisota boy bought a new FLH (Shovel Head) in 1979.  That spring he had
to "do a top end".  Ditto the next and the next, despite switching to single
weight 50 like all his buddies recommended.  They too refreshed top ends
annually, adding to H-D's myth of unreliability.  Then one day he talked to
a chemist where he worked, started using multi-grade like H-D recommended,
and never looked back.
